Tips for effective participation:
The Expo Rueda platform allows you to hold face-to-face and virtual meetings.
Face-to-face contact always allow you to build greater trust and observe the body language of your counterpart. For this reason, we recommend that you participate in person, to the best of your ability. In addition, in the place you will be able to connect with the companies present, referents by sector, institutions that promote foreign trade and investments, with the support of the organizing team.
Whether for effective face-to-face or virtual participation,
1. Prepare the information:
Have a catalog, images and the necessary information to share, either in person or virtually. Bring a tablet or laptop with you. The platform allows you to share documents and hold meetings just like video call platforms do, during virtual meetings.
Identify the company of your interest among the participants and find out about it (web page, social media, etc.). If you are the requester of the meeting, know how to justify the reason for the request.
Be able to answer the following questions:
- What is your current production capacity?
- Could you increase production in the short term in case of a major order?
- What are your preferred sales channels?
- How many sales points do you have? At the national level? On an international level?
- Why should I work with you and not with another company?
2. Connect to the platform:
Please check regularly that your profile information is up-to-date and complete. Your profile’s attractiveness depends on it, so you can concrete the largest number of meetings.
Reject requests that are not of your interest and approve those that are not. Do not leave any participant in “pending approval”.
The organizer can decide to delete your profile if it does not have the minimum information.
3. Match your materials and setting:
Have your presentation and promotional materials ready, be it: business cards in sufficient quantity, catalogues, business gifts...
Prefer the computer as a tool to hold meetings virtually. You will have a better experience and facilitate the exchange of documents. Try to have a neutral background and avoid distractions.
Check your internet connection, making sure it is of quality.
4. Attend your meetings on time:
Schedule yourself well in advance and attend your meetings on time. Remember that you only have 25 minutes to introduce your company, get to know the counterparty's company, exchange contact details and assess whether there is business potential.
In a virtual meeting, not connecting on time can give your counterpart the impression that you might have forgotten the meeting, are having a hard time connecting, or are not interested. In any of these scenarios, you can compromise the image of your company.
Business matchmaking events are a tool to make as many contacts as possible. In case you find many synergies with a particular counterpart, schedule an additional meeting in the week, invite them to lunch/dinner, to visit your company, etc. Take advantage of the event to make more contacts!
5. Help us improve:
In general, please do not forget to evaluate the quality of the event and the participating companies. Evaluate the quality of the exchange, of your counterpart and the volume of potential business intentions after each meeting.
